Compare complete supply arrangements at the required final duty.
A request for 30 bar portable air can lead to proposals with very different equipment boundaries. One may supply the required pressure from a standalone compressor. Another may use an existing compressed-air source together with a booster. Both need to be assessed against the final application, but they do not require the same site resources or scope of supply.
The useful comparison begins with the air the customer needs to receive: its pressure, flow, quality and operating pattern. It then identifies every item and dependency needed to deliver that duty.
Reddy Compressors considers high-pressure enquiries subject to supplier confirmation and application review. This page explains how to frame a complete 30 bar proposal without treating an isolated machine rating as a finished supply solution.
See Portable Compressors for the wider equipment and service overview.
Define the final duty before choosing the arrangement
Record where the 30 bar requirement applies and whether it is gauge or absolute pressure. Include required flow with its reference conditions, air-quality requirements, working periods and any permitted variation established by the application owner.
State whether the site has an existing compressed-air supply that may be considered for the project. Identify its documented operating conditions and availability during the proposed work. An existing compressor on site is not evidence that spare capacity is available for a new duty.
Keep the preferred equipment arrangement separate from the essential application requirement. This allows a supplier to explain an alternative without silently changing the outcome the customer needs.
For example, “30 bar air at the process connection during the scheduled duty” describes a different boundary from “a booster with a 30 bar outlet rating.” The first requires a complete supply assessment. The second describes one item that may form part of it.
A documented standalone portable reference
A manufacturer’s regional portable-compressor table lists an identified model with a 16–30 bar working-pressure range and 29.04 m³/min flow at maximum pressure.
This provides a documented reference for a portable compressor whose published range reaches 30 bar. It does not establish the output of every model in the category, net delivery through a customer's accessories or local availability of that configuration.
Use the offered machine's applicable specifications rather than assigning this reference point to a similarly named unit. Confirm the pressure basis, flow-reference conditions and suitability for the site as part of the enquiry.
The existence of such a reference also means a booster should not be assumed necessary merely because the request says 30 bar. The appropriate arrangement depends on the actual duty and available equipment.
A booster rating has an upstream dependency
A separate manufacturer's booster table lists one configuration with 7.5 bar inlet pressure and 30 bar outlet pressure. Those are linked conditions in that specification. The outlet number must not be separated from the feed requirement when evaluating the equipment.
This reference is a packaged industrial booster, not evidence that the unit is a portable site package or that it is suitable for connection to the portable compressor described above. Any temporary deployment would need its own assessment.
A booster proposal must identify the required feed pressure, flow, air condition and operating limits, together with the upstream supply intended to meet them. The complete arrangement also needs an agreed responsibility for the equipment between the two machines.
Do not describe the booster as an independent replacement for a compressor drawing atmospheric air. Do not add compressor and booster flow labels together to create a final capacity. Their respective figures must be interpreted on the applicable reference basis and within the assessed arrangement.
Compare the whole scope
The following questions make the difference between the two approaches visible without assuming either is better for every project.
Comparison item | Standalone compressor proposal | Compressor-and-booster proposal |
|---|---|---|
Final duty | Evidence of delivery at the required pressure | Evidence of the combined arrangement's delivery |
Upstream air | Identify the compressor's inlet and site conditions | Identify a suitable and available compressed-air feed |
Energy provision | Confirm the selected unit's requirements | Confirm requirements for both stages and associated equipment |
Treatment | Identify equipment needed for the application | Identify requirements at the booster inlet and final application |
Connections | Define the path to the customer boundary | Include the intermediate connection as well as final delivery |
Responsibility | Identify who confirms the supplied package | Identify who confirms the complete combination |
Deployment | Assess the proposed transport and positioning | Assess every item, including feed equipment if separately supplied |
These are proposal-review questions, not a connection design. The final choice requires equipment-specific assessment and confirmed commercial scope.
An illustrative incomplete quotation
Imagine two offers responding to the same final 30 bar requirement. Offer A includes a compressor and the stated connecting package. Offer B quotes a booster alone and assumes the customer will provide its feed air and electrical supply.
Even if Offer B's quoted price is lower, the two totals do not yet describe the same scope. Establish whether the feed supply is suitable and available, what additional equipment is required and who provides it before comparing the complete cost.
No prices, savings or preferred outcome are assumed in this example. The missing items may change the comparison, or the customer may already have suitable resources. The review should establish which situation applies.
The same issue can arise in reverse: a standalone offer may omit treatment that the booster proposal includes. Compare documented inclusions and dependencies rather than judging by the number of machines or the pressure heading.
Assess the availability of an existing feed supply
If the proposal relies on a customer's air system, ask the site owner to identify which existing duties remain active during the assignment. The feed assessment should address the proposed operating periods rather than assume the entire installed capacity can be reassigned.
A planned shutdown can also change which compressors, treatment units and distribution sections remain available. Record those dependencies before treating an existing connection as a confirmed source.
The responsible technical parties should establish what evidence is needed to demonstrate adequate feed under the relevant conditions. This may require applicable equipment data and site records. A nominal network pressure alone does not establish the complete feed duty.
If the supply remains uncertain, identify that issue explicitly in the proposal. Do not present the combined package as confirmed while an essential upstream input remains unverified.
Assign responsibility for the complete result
Separate suppliers can provide satisfactory individual equipment while leaving the overall arrangement unassessed. Avoid that gap by identifying who reviews the combination and confirms the agreed final duty.
The equipment schedule should identify the feed source, any booster, treatment, connecting equipment and delivery boundary. Retain the applicable documents and any conditions that must be resolved before acceptance.
Agree how a change will be reviewed. Replacing the feed compressor or altering the treatment arrangement can affect the basis of the package assessment even when the booster remains unchanged.
Safe connection, control, protection, isolation and operating procedures require competent engineering and the applicable equipment instructions. This guide supplies no procedure for assembling, testing or operating a 30 bar system.
Keep application claims within the evidence
A pressure category does not establish suitability for drilling, pressure testing, breathing air or another specialised use. Each application has additional requirements and must be assessed on its own evidence.
Likewise, a reference model's published capability does not establish production rate, drilling depth or a guaranteed uninterrupted supply. Any such commitment needs a defined basis appropriate to the assignment.
Ask the proposal to distinguish equipment performance from the customer's process outcome. That keeps the scope clear and helps identify which additional specialist review is required.
Frequently asked questions
Does 30 bar always require a booster?
No. Published portable-compressor specifications include models reaching this pressure. Whether a standalone unit or a boosted arrangement is suitable depends on the required duty and available equipment.
Can a booster run without feed air?
The booster reference discussed here specifies a compressed-air inlet condition. It must be assessed with a suitable upstream supply; its outlet rating alone does not describe a complete air-generation package.
Are the two reference machines a compatible pair?
No pairing is established. They illustrate different supply arrangements. They have not been selected together, and their inlet, outlet, flow and other operating requirements have not been reconciled for a project.
Is a stationary booster automatically suitable for temporary use?
Temporary deployment needs assessment of the actual equipment and site arrangement. A published industrial specification does not by itself establish transport, positioning, power or service suitability for a mobile assignment.
What should accompany the enquiry?
Provide the final pressure and flow requirement, its measurement boundary, quality needs, operating periods and location. If existing feed air is proposed, include the relevant equipment details and information about its availability during the work.
Discuss a 30 bar supply requirement
Reddy Compressors has supported compressor enquiries since 2002 from Secunderabad/Hyderabad. Telangana and Andhra Pradesh are priority areas. Projects elsewhere in India are considered against the assignment and confirmed supply arrangements.
Send the final duty and any existing feed-supply information so the enquiry can address the complete equipment scope. High-pressure supply is conditional on supplier confirmation.
Emergency coordination depends on available resources and site circumstances. No fixed response time or unverified performance guarantee is offered.
