BH23 Drilling Air Mobilisation and Site Acceptance

A machine can be suitable on paper and still arrive with unresolved site interfaces. Mobilisation planning connects the agreed air duty to access, positioning, connections, operating responsibilities and the checks required before working use. It should be settled while the equipment is being selected.

Confirm the site before dispatch

Provide the delivery location, access restrictions, available unloading arrangements and intended operating position. Identify the rig, customer contact and person responsible for accepting the equipment. Ask the supplier for the actual dimensions, transport configuration and handling instructions of the offered machine.

The site team should assess ground support, safe access, exhaust and ventilation arrangements, fuel handling, noise and the routing of the air connection under the relevant site method. A generic site photograph cannot resolve every placement issue.

Agree what arrives with the machine

List the compressor, accessories, hoses, connections, documentation and any agreed attendance. Identify customer-provided items. For rentals, retain dispatch condition records and the equipment identity so return discussions refer to the same asset and supplied package.

Confirm the person responsible for routine operating attention and the permitted scope of work. An operator’s familiarity with another model does not replace the instructions for the machine delivered.

Use a recorded acceptance check

The project should define who checks equipment identity, connection suitability, visible condition and the required operating evidence. Record the actual conditions of any performance check. Distinguish a basic functional check from confirmation of the intended loaded duty.

If a material item is missing, record the issue and the action needed before acceptance. Do not close the record by assuming that a later shift will resolve it. Retain the accepted duty statement with the commissioning or handover documents.

Make service communication practical

Provide one clear route for reporting a problem, along with the equipment identity and information required. Set expectations for authorising parts or repair work and for arranging replacement equipment if needed. Emergency coordination should be confirmed case by case; it is not a promised response time.

Close the assignment properly

For rental return, record operating hours, condition, supplied items and any reported issue. For ownership, hand over the accepted scope, documentation and maintenance requirements. Carry unresolved observations into the final record rather than losing them at demobilisation.

Plan delivery: submit location, dates, site constraints and connection details with the project enquiry brief. For contract boundaries, use Borewell Compressor Rentals or New Compressor Sales.
