COMPRESSED-AIR MAINTENANCE OPTIMISATION, INTERVAL STRATEGY & PM EFFECTIVENESS ENGINEERING

These principles are expanded here without inventing unsupported intervals.

That commercial service page remains separately preserved.

Provisional new-series slug: /compressed-air-engineering/maintenance-optimisation-interval-strategy-pm-effectiveness/ | CTA: Optimise My Compressor Maintenance Strategy

More maintenance is not automatically better maintenance. the right task must address a credible failure mode at an interval that preserves function without creating unnecessary cost, intrusion or maintenance-induced risk

It does not replace manufacturer minimum requirements, statutory tasks or safety-critical inspections. Instead, it asks whether each task has a clear purpose, whether its interval matches the equipment and duty, whether condition evidence supports adjustment, and whether completed maintenance actually reduces the targeted failure mechanism.

Interval optimisation is evidence-based. Calendar time, running hours, starts, load hours, environment, contamination, temperature, lubricant condition, differential pressure, vibration, alarm history, repeat failures and service findings can all influence the strategy. Where evidence is weak, retain the controlled requirement rather than extending intervals by assumption.

Do not extend or shorten a manufacturer, statutory, warranty or safety-critical requirement merely because a generic benchmark suggests a different interval. Where optimisation is permitted, preserve the before/after rationale and verify whether the task continues to control the intended failure mode.

Governance & Continuous Improvement: govern change approval against the exact compressor, component, duty and failure mechanism. Record the current task and interval, source requirement, operating exposure, condition history, failure history, removed-part findings, confidence and approval basis. Do not extend or shorten a manufacturer, statutory, warranty or safety-critical requirement merely because a generic benchmark suggests a different interval. Where optimisation is permitted, preserve the before/after rationale and verify whether the task continues to control the intended failure mode.
