REDDY COMPRESSORS

Spare parts

Compressor spare parts in Hyderabad: matched from the nameplate, for every make

10 min read14 sections

Why the nameplate, not the old part

Two compressors of the same model can take different separators, different valve kits and different oil, depending on the serial range, the year and the options fitted. A part ordered from the look of the old one, or from a catalogue picture, is the commonest reason a machine stands for a week waiting for the right one. We start from the make, model and serial number, check the parts book for that serial range, and confirm fit before dispatch. The compatibility verification page explains the checks.

Genuine or compatible?

Both have a place. For an airend, a controller or a drive, genuine is normally the right call: the part defines the machine. For filters, separators, oil and many valves, a good compatible part meets the specification at a lower price, and we say which ones we trust from experience on our own fleet. Whichever you choose, the part number is stated on the quotation so you know exactly what you are buying. The brands we support page goes into more detail on genuine and compatible parts.

Service kits

For a scheduled service, a kit matched to the model and serial range is simpler than ordering parts one by one: the right filters, separator, oil quantity and seals for the 2,000, 4,000 or 8,000-hour service in one box. The service kits page explains how a kit is put together and checked.

Dispatch and fitting

Parts in stock at Tarnaka can be collected or shipped the same working day across Hyderabad and Secunderabad, and by courier or transport across Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and India. If you would rather the part were fitted, a service engineer can bring it and fit it in the same visit; for valve kits, separators and airend work that is usually the better choice, because the fitting is where most of the risk is.

How a part is identified, step by step

The nameplate gives the make, model and serial number; the serial number places the machine in a production range; the parts book for that range lists the part numbers that fit, and the revision history shows where a part was superseded. We follow that chain for every order:

  1. Nameplate photo – make, model, serial number, year, and the rated pressure and flow.
  2. Serial range check – the same model may have changed separator, inlet valve or controller mid-production; the serial number decides which.
  3. Options fitted – a dryer built in, a different motor, a high-pressure variant, a VSD: each changes some parts.
  4. Part number confirmed – stated on the quotation, with the genuine number and, where offered, the compatible equivalent.
  5. Fit check on dispatch – dimensions, thread, seal and connection compared to the parts-book drawing before the part leaves.

Where a nameplate is missing or unreadable, we work from the airend or engine plate, photographs of the old part with a scale, and measured dimensions; it takes longer, but it is still better than guessing. The compressor nameplate interpretation and serial range and revision changes guides explain what the plate tells us.

The parts that fail first in Indian conditions, and why

Part Why it fails here What to keep in stock
Air filter elements Dust loading on open sites, quarries and batching plants; a collapsed element sends dust into the airend One set per machine, two for dusty sites
Separator elements High discharge temperatures and aged oil shorten element life; a passing element puts oil into the plant One per machine at the 4,000-hour point
Thermostatic valve elements Varnish from hot oil makes the element open late; the machine trips on temperature in summer One per machine before summer
Oil cooler and aftercooler cores Dust packs the fins; corrosion in coastal Andhra plants Cleaning first; a spare core for critical machines
Condensate drains Monsoon humidity overloads drains; a failed drain floods the receiver and the dryer One auto-drain per receiver and dryer
Belts and coupling elements Heat hardens rubber; misalignment after a motor change One set per machine
Inlet valve kits Dust and varnish stick the valve; the machine will not load or will not unload One kit per machine at the 4,000-hour point
Portable diesel: fuel filters and water separators Fuel quality on site; water in diesel kills injectors Two sets per machine on site

A small shelf of these items, matched to your machines by part number, prevents most of the stoppages we are called to. The spare parts stock risk worksheet helps decide what is worth holding against the cost of a stoppage.

Genuine, compatible and counterfeit: Telling them apart

A genuine part comes from the manufacturer’s supply chain in its packaging with its part number and, increasingly, a verification code. A compatible part is made by another manufacturer to the same specification, sold under its own name and number, and can be excellent or poor; we recommend only those we have run on our own fleet. A counterfeit part is a poor part in a copied box, and it is common in the market for filters and separators. The signs: packaging that is almost right, no batch or date code, media that feels thin, a price far below the genuine part. A counterfeit separator that collapses puts oil through the whole plant; the saving is not worth it. We state on every quotation exactly what the part is and who made it.

Service kits versus loose parts

For a scheduled service, a kit matched to the model and serial range contains the right air filter, oil filter, separator element, oil quantity and the seals and O-rings the service disturbs. It costs less than the same items bought separately, it arrives as one box, and it removes the commonest error – the technician discovering mid-service that the separator gasket in the box is for the previous revision. Loose parts are right for a repair, a top-up of stock or a machine with an unusual history.

Airend and major component supply

When an airend reaches the end of its bearing life, there are three routes: rebuild the existing airend with a bearing and seal kit in the workshop; fit an exchange airend, rebuilt and tested, against the return of the old one; or replace the machine. The right answer depends on the airend’s condition, the age and efficiency of the machine and how long the plant can wait. We supply bearing and seal kits for workshop rebuilds, arrange exchange airends where the make offers them, and quote the replacement machine alongside so the comparison is honest. The airend bearings and seals page lists what is involved.

Controllers, sensors and drives

Electronic parts fail less often than mechanical ones but stop the machine completely when they do. Pressure and temperature sensors, solenoid valves, controller boards and displays, contactors and overloads, and VFD cooling fans are the common items; most are identified from the controller model and the sensor’s own plate rather than the compressor nameplate, so a photo of each helps. For older machines where the original controller is no longer made, we advise on retrofit controllers that keep the machine’s protections. The controllers and sensors and solenoids pages cover identification.

Parts for dryers, filters and the air network

The compressor is only part of the system. Refrigerant dryer parts (fans, pressure switches, drains, refrigerant service), desiccant and purge valves for adsorption dryers, filter elements by grade, auto drains, and the valves and fittings of the distribution network are supplied from the same desk, so one order covers the station. The dryer parts and filter elements and drains pages list the common items.

A worked example

A textile processing unit near Medak sends a nameplate photo of a 50 hp screw compressor, a photo of the sight glass showing dark oil, and a note that the plant has oil at the machines downstream. From the serial number the machine falls in a range where the separator and its gaskets were revised; the unit has also been topped up with a different oil at some point. The quotation lists the revised separator element and gasket set by part number, an oil filter, the correct synthetic oil for a full change with a flush, a thermostatic element as a precaution given the dark oil, and a line filter element for the downstream filter that has been catching the oil. The parts ship the same day; a service engineer fits them the next morning, records the readings, and the oil at the machines stops. The plant takes a second separator and filter set for its shelf.

Ordering and delivery

Send the nameplate and the part or fault by WhatsApp; we reply with the part number, whether it is in stock, the price and the delivery time. In-stock items can be collected from Tarnaka 7 days a week, 8:30 am to 8:30 pm, delivered across Hyderabad and Secunderabad, or shipped by courier and transport across Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and India. For parts that must be ordered, we give a date and keep to it or tell you early. Fitting by a service engineer can be booked with the order.

Can I buy parts without a service visit?

Yes. Collect from Tarnaka or have them shipped; many customers’ own technicians fit them.

How do I know the part will fit?

We check it against the serial range before dispatch and state the part number on the quotation. If a part does not fit for a reason on our side, we replace it.

Do you supply compressor oil?

Yes, in the grade the machine specifies, in pails and drums.

Do you ship outside Hyderabad?

Yes, by courier and transport across India.

My machine is old and the maker no longer lists the part. Can you help?

Usually. Many parts are shared across models or have compatible equivalents; for controllers and some valves we advise on retrofits that keep the machine safe.

Can you supply parts for a mixed fleet from one order?

Yes. Send the nameplates of all the machines and we quote one list with each machine’s parts identified.

Do you supply parts for portable diesel compressors, including the engine?

Yes: compressor-side parts and engine service parts, filters, belts, cooling and fuel-system items.

How do I avoid counterfeit filters and separators?

Buy from a supplier who states the part number and the maker on the quotation, and check the packaging codes on delivery. We do both.
