When drilling performance changes, a useful service request describes what changed, when it changed and under which operating conditions. “The compressor is weak” is a starting observation, not a diagnosis. Separate machine and application evidence
Record compressor model, serial number, hours, service history, displayed alarms and operating readings. Then describe the rig, tooling, depth interval, water observations and any recent configuration change. Keep the two records connected without assuming that one caused the other.
State whether the concern appears during loading, steady operation, flushing or another activity. If readings come from different locations, label them. Include the instrument details where available. A short dated log is more useful than an unexplained photograph of a gauge.

Collect only observations permitted by the equipment procedure. Do not defeat shutdowns, alter protection settings or open pressurised components to obtain a reading. Inspection requiring access to machinery belongs to trained personnel under the applicable isolation procedure.
Test a proposed explanation
A repair recommendation should connect the evidence to a finding and then to a defined action. Where the evidence is inconclusive, state the next check needed. Avoid replacing multiple components merely to see whether the symptom disappears without documenting the investigation.
After the intervention, compare the machine against an agreed acceptance basis. Record the conditions of the check, instruments used, work completed and any unresolved limitation. A successful unloaded run does not establish every required loaded duty.
Decide whether temporary air is needed
If production cannot wait for inspection or parts, describe the required temporary duty separately. A substitute should be assessed against the application, not simply matched to the old machine’s nominal category. Confirm mobilisation and service arrangements in the rental quotation.
