Real plants are multi-brand
Few compressed-air installations stay single-brand for long. A factory may start with one manufacturer’s screw compressor, add another make during an expansion, inherit a third with a purchased production line and hire a fourth during a shutdown. The dryer may come from one supplier, filters from another, and the receiver, controls, drains and piping from local fabricators. Portable fleets on construction and drilling sites are often even more mixed.

Over a decade or two, most plants become genuinely mixed technology environments. The maintenance team then needs one partner who can look at the whole system, identify each machine correctly and source the right parts, without steering every decision back to a single product range.
What “multi-brand” means, and what it does not
Multi-brand does not mean “authorised for every brand”. These are different commercial relationships, and we keep them separate.

Brand names and trademarks belong to their owners. Where we mention a manufacturer, it is to describe the equipment we sell, rent, service or supply parts for, never to suggest an appointment we do not hold.
Why an independent approach helps the customer
A manufacturer naturally recommends from its own portfolio, and that is entirely reasonable. An independent specialist can begin from a different question: which technology and configuration best fit this operating requirement? That opens comparisons such as:
- rotary screw against reciprocating;
- diesel against electric drive;
- portable against stationary;
- fixed speed against variable speed;
- oil-injected against oil-free;
- new against used or refurbished;
- buying against renting;
- repair against overhaul against replacement.
Each of these has a correct answer for a given duty, and it is rarely the same answer for every customer.
Application first, manufacturer last
Our selection sequence runs: application, requirement, technology, configuration, and only then the make and model options that genuinely fit. The opposite approach, picking a brand and then trying to make the application suit it, is how plants end up with machines that are oversized, at the wrong pressure or hard to support locally.
Example: DTH and borewell drilling
The first variables are hammer requirement, bore diameter, required pressure and flow, depth, formation, flushing velocity, altitude and site access. Borewell work typically needs 600–1,500 cfm at 200–400 psig (13.8–27.6 bar), with special units up to about 35 bar (507.6 psig). We supply all types, all brands and all models of borewell compressors: new, used and refurbished, for hire, with service and spare parts.
Example: a factory plant compressor
The first variables are actual demand and how it varies, working pressure, annual running hours, air-quality class under ISO 8573-1, control philosophy, cooling and ventilation, future expansion and redundancy. Only then do model comparisons on free air delivery at working pressure and specific power in kW per m³/min become meaningful.
How we compare machines fairly across brands
Comparing brochures from different manufacturers is harder than it looks. Figures are often quoted at different pressures, ambient conditions or test standards. We put options on a common basis before comparing them.
- State the duty: flow needed at the point of use, working pressure in bar and psig, running hours and air class.
- Compare free air delivery at the same working pressure, not nominal motor or engine power.
- Compare package specific power at the operating point, including fans and dryer where integrated.
- Check high-ambient capability, since Indian summers of 40–45 °C (above 45 °C on open sites) and dust can derate machines designed for milder climates.
- Check controls, part-load behaviour and how the machine will share load with existing compressors.
- Check serviceability: access to filters, separators and coolers, and local availability of parts.
- Weigh purchase price against energy and maintenance over the expected life.
Technology neutrality does not mean all machines are equal. It means each is judged on the same evidence.
Multi-brand sales, rental and service
Sales
We sell new and used or refurbished compressors of many makes, and for long-term projects we can supply brand-new machines to site. Used machines are described on their real condition: running hours, airend and engine or motor condition, and what has been replaced.
Rental
Our own rental fleet runs from 50 to 2,000 cfm and 2 to 30 bar (about 30–435 psig), diesel and electric, oil-injected and oil-free. Because the fleet is multi-brand, the hire machine is chosen for the duty rather than for what one manufacturer happens to make.
Service & AMC
Over 20 service engineers and technicians maintain mixed fleets across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. A multi-brand AMC lets one team look after all the compressors, dryers and filters at a site, with one service record and one point of contact. On hire jobs we service machines every 300 running hours, including the oil change.
Service capability varies by technology, model, generation and controller. Where a particular controller or diagnostic tool is needed and not available to us, we say so rather than guess.
Genuine, compatible and identified spare parts
Every part we supply is identified from the machine: make, model, serial number, a nameplate photograph and, where possible, the old part or its markings. Fit is confirmed before quoting.

A part that fits physically is not necessarily the correct part. Separator elements, minimum-pressure valves, thermostatic valves and lubricants all have ratings that matter to safe, efficient operation.
Legacy and older machines
Many Indian plants and contractors still run compressors that are well past their first decade, sometimes from manufacturers whose range or local support has changed. These machines can often be kept running safely with correctly identified parts, a careful overhaul and sensible operating limits. The honest question is when continued repair stops making sense. We look at airend and motor or engine condition, parts availability, energy use against a modern machine at the same duty, and the cost of an unplanned stoppage, then give a straightforward repair, overhaul or replace recommendation without brand bias.
Standardisation still has value
Being multi-brand does not mean every machine should be different. Standardising on one make for a group of identical duties can simplify spares stock and training. We will say so when it is the better choice for a customer, even if it narrows the options.

Can one company service all the compressor brands in my plant?
Often, yes. Reddy Compressors services many makes, including ELGi, Atlas Copco, Ingersoll Rand, KAESER and Chicago Pneumatic, as an independent specialist. We look after compressors, dryers, filters and receivers together under one service record. If a specific controller or diagnostic tool is needed that we cannot access, we tell you at the start rather than part-way through a job.
Are you an authorised dealer for Atlas Copco, ELGi or Ingersoll Rand?
No. We are not an authorised dealer or distributor for any compressor manufacturer. We sell, rent and service machines of these and other makes as an independent multi-brand business. Brand names and trademarks belong to their owners, and we use them only to describe the equipment we work with.
Are compatible spare parts as good as genuine parts?
Good compatible parts can perform well for filters, separators and wear items, but quality varies widely. We check dimensions, ratings, media and fit against the original before offering one. For critical components or warranty-sensitive machines we usually recommend the genuine part. Either way, the part is identified from your machine’s nameplate and serial number first.
How do you decide which brand of compressor to recommend?
We start from the duty: flow at the point of use, working pressure, running hours, air quality, site conditions and how the machine will work with existing equipment. Options are then compared on free air delivery at the same pressure, specific power, high-ambient capability, serviceability and parts support. The brand comes last, once the requirement is clear.
Is it better to standardise on one compressor brand?
Sometimes. Standardising identical duties on one make can simplify spares and training. But forcing one brand onto every duty can mean the wrong technology or size for some of them. We look at your fleet, duties and parts usage and recommend standardisation where it genuinely reduces cost and risk.
Can you rent me a compressor of a different brand from my own?
Yes. Our rental fleet is multi-brand, and a hire machine is chosen for the pressure, flow and air quality your duty needs, not to match the badge on your installed compressor. We connect it to your system with suitable hoses or pipework and treatment equipment, and our team services it every 300 running hours on hire.
