What an application study covers
An application study answers a practical question that a plant engineer in the same industry would ask: what kind of air system did this job need, and how was it delivered? A useful study records:
- The industry and the process function of the air: actuation, conveying, cleaning, blasting, drilling, instrument supply or testing.
- The duty: required flow, minimum pressure at the user, running hours and whether demand was steady or intermittent.
- Air-quality needs, stated as an ISO 8573-1 class where relevant.
- The supply arrangement: installed, rental, temporary package or a combination.
- Our scope: supply, commissioning, operators, maintenance, breakdown support.
- What the records show, and what they do not.
We describe projects by sector and region, without naming the customer or their client.

Our recorded projects by industry
The following projects come from our own records. They were delivered by our team across Reddy Compressors and Reddy Generators, which are under the same management. Customers are not named.
Oil and gas: temporary power-and-air package, Kakinada
From 2008 to June 2009, for an international oilfield-services contractor working on a major natural-gas development near Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh, we supplied and commissioned a temporary power-and-air package. The package included three compressors rated 1,100 cfm at 300 psig (20.7 bar), two rated 1,000 cfm at 275 psig (19 bar) and one rated 750 cfm at 150 psig (10.3 bar), with generators from 1.5 kVA single-phase to 200 kVA three-phase, cable junction boxes and distribution boards. Our scope covered transport, erection, commissioning, operators and a technician on site.
Steel: round-the-clock hire for a coating job
In August 2013, for an industrial coating and corrosion-protection contractor at a steel plant in Andhra Pradesh, we supplied a 450 cfm diesel portable compressor on hire for an urgent job running 24 hours a day. Skilled operators worked 12-hour shifts. Complete maintenance was in our scope, with an oil change every 300 hours and breakdown support. We have also supported coating work for the same type of contractor at an oil refinery and at a petroleum installation in Kurnool.
Power: construction air at a thermal power project
In November 2014, for a mechanical construction contractor at a large thermal power project in Karnataka, we supplied a 400 cfm electric compressor and a 160 kVA generator set on a three-month hire, extendable. The machines were delivered and commissioned within one to two days of arrival, with operator training, preventive and breakdown maintenance, oil changed at supply and a preventive maintenance schedule provided.
In June 2022, for an engineering contractor on an independent power producer’s plant, we supplied two 450 cfm diesel compressors at 150 psig (10.3 bar) and one 400 cfm unit at 100 psig (6.9 bar) on hire at 300 hours per month. Our operators could run and troubleshoot the machines, servicing was carried out every 300 hours, and the customer required uptime throughout. We have also worked on a power project at Muthukur in Nellore district, Andhra Pradesh, for the plant developer under an EPC contractor.
Infrastructure and irrigation
For a lift irrigation project in Kurnool district, Andhra Pradesh, we supplied three 450 cfm compressors to an infrastructure contractor. In February 2026, we supplied a 400 cfm compressor and a 25 kVA generator set on rental to an infrastructure contractor at Raichur, Karnataka. Our compressors have also been used on metro rail construction work in Hyderabad and Bengaluru.
Pharmaceutical: breakdown cover
We have supplied compressors on breakdown to leading pharmaceutical manufacturers in Hyderabad and Telangana. These cases are described only in general terms because the plant records are confidential.
What these projects show, and what they do not
| Project | The records support | Not claimed |
|---|---|---|
| Kakinada gas development | Equipment ratings, package scope, period of work | Project outcomes for the client |
| Steel-plant coating hire | Machine size, 24-hour duty, shifts, service interval | Coating quality or production results |
| Thermal power construction | Machines, hire period, commissioning timeline, services | A standard commissioning time for every job |
| Power-plant hire, 2022 | Machine sizes, pressures, monthly hours, service interval | Uptime figures |
| Irrigation and infrastructure | Machines supplied and sector | Depths, volumes or project progress |
This distinction matters. A delivery record proves what was supplied. It does not prove energy savings, production gains or reliability figures, and we do not present it as if it did.
How to judge any industry case study
When you read a case study from any supplier, ask:
- Is the process described clearly enough to compare with your own?
- Are flow and pressure stated, and is pressure given at the user or only at the compressor?
- Is air quality stated as a measurable class, or only as “clean air”?
- Was the result measured, and over what period and conditions?
- Did anything else change at the same time that could explain the result?
- Is the saving or improvement a measurement, an estimate or a customer opinion?
A study that cannot answer these questions is a reference to a sale, not engineering evidence.
Applying these lessons to your plant
The recurring lessons from temporary and industrial air work are practical. Define the minimum pressure at the user, not at the compressor. State the air-quality requirement in ISO 8573-1 terms. Plan servicing for long hires, as we do every 300 running hours. Allow for high summer ambient temperatures of 40–45 °C in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, and above 45 °C on open sites, and for dust on construction and drilling sites, which affect cooling and filter life. Where uptime matters, consider operators on shifts and a standby arrangement.

Frequently asked questions
Which industries does Reddy Compressors supply?
Our records include oil and gas, steel, thermal and independent power projects, irrigation, infrastructure, metro rail construction and pharmaceutical breakdown cover. We also work with manufacturing, food, textile, chemical and borewell drilling customers. We sell, rent and service compressors for all of these, and supply spares, across Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and the rest of India.
Why don’t you name your customers in case studies?
Plant records, equipment schedules and project details belong to the customer and are often confidential. We describe our projects by sector, region and scope instead, using only facts from our own records. This lets readers judge the type and scale of work without exposing customer information, and it keeps the description limited to what the records can support.
What compressor is used for pipeline testing in oil and gas projects?
Pipeline drying and testing support often uses large diesel portable compressors at high pressure. On our Kakinada gas-development package, the compressors were rated 1,100 cfm at 300 psig, 1,000 cfm at 275 psig and 750 cfm at 150 psig. Pneumatic testing carries a serious stored-energy hazard, so the client’s and engineer’s procedures always govern the test itself.
What size compressor is used for coating and blasting at steel plants?
It depends on the number and size of blast nozzles. A single size 6 nozzle needs about 280–300 cfm at 7 bar (101.5 psig), and longer hoses add losses. On a steel-plant coating job we supplied a 450 cfm diesel portable on round-the-clock hire, which gives margin for hose losses and auxiliary tools at a single blasting position.
Can you supply compressors and generators together for a project?
Yes. Reddy Compressors and Reddy Generators are under the same management, and our projects have combined both. Examples include the Kakinada temporary package with generators from 1.5 to 200 kVA, a 400 cfm compressor with a 160 kVA generator at a power project, and a 400 cfm compressor with a 25 kVA generator at Raichur.
How is a verified case study different from a reference list?
A reference list shows where equipment was supplied. A verified study goes further: it states the process, the duty, the arrangement and what the records show, and it says clearly what is not claimed. A delivery alone does not prove energy savings, uptime or production results, so a good study separates supplied scope from measured performance.
