BH15 Air Hoses and Rig Connections
A drilling-air package is incomplete until its connections are defined. The compressor outlet, hose assembly and rig inlet should be reviewed together, with ownership and supply responsibilities settled before equipment moves to site. Nominal hose diameter alone cannot establish the suitability of an assembly.
Describe the connection route
Provide the intended hose route, approximate length, identified connection types and the locations of valves and measurement points. Include site constraints such as vehicle crossings, access routes and exposure to heat or mechanical damage. Ask the responsible supplier to confirm the complete assembly for the proposed service.
A quotation should identify hose assemblies by specification or traceable part reference. Where a customer intends to reuse existing equipment, provide markings, records and condition information for assessment. An undocumented item should not be treated as an approved part of the package merely because it can be connected.
Account for the delivery boundary
State where the air duty is required. If performance is quoted at the compressor outlet while the application requirement is at the rig, the reviewer must account for the intervening arrangement. Request the assumptions and the method used rather than inserting an arbitrary pressure-loss allowance.
For instrumentation, record the location, range and suitability of each measurement device. This becomes particularly important when investigating a restriction or comparing a replacement package.

Request a connection-inclusive proposal
Send photographs and identification details for both endpoints, the intended route, the required duty and the proposed ownership split. State whether a complete connection package is required or whether existing items are to be assessed.
