The district from a compressed-air point of view
Drive south on NH 44 and the first forty kilometres beyond the outer ring road are now industrial. The parks at Kothur, Shadnagar and Jadcherla hold formulation and bulk-drug plants, speciality chemical units, food and beverage processors, packaging, plastics and engineering works, and warehousing. These plants need instrument-quality and process air: oil-free or well-filtered, dried to a specified dew point, documented and maintained to a schedule. Beyond Jadcherla the character changes. Mahbubnagar and Narayanpet quarry and cut granite; the seed-processing industry around Mahbubnagar and Gadwal cleans, treats and packs seed on compressed air; Gadwal’s textile and handloom economy is growing a mill sector; and the uplands of Nagarkurnool, Wanaparthy and Narayanpet are drilled every dry season for irrigation bores in hard rock, often deep. Construction for the new estates, the irrigation projects and the highway adds portable air everywhere.

Instrument and process air for the Kothur, Shadnagar and Jadcherla parks
The pharmaceutical, chemical and food plants in the parks are the most demanding compressed-air users in the region. The questions they ask are about air quality, documentation and reliability rather than about pressure and flow alone.
| Plant type | Air required | Typical arrangement | What we are asked for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Formulation and bulk-drug plants | Oil-free or Class 1 oil content, pressure dew point to the plant’s standard, particle control, documented maintenance | Oil-free screw or oil-injected with multi-stage filtration, desiccant or refrigerated dryer to specification, duplicated sets | Supply and commissioning against an air-quality specification, maintenance contracts with records, standby and rental sets during audits and outages |
| Speciality chemicals | Instrument air for control valves and transmitters, dry to a low dew point, reliable | Duplex compressors with a desiccant dryer and receivers sized for control-valve demand | Instrument-air audits, dryer sizing, standby sets |
| Food and beverage | Clean, dry air for packaging, pneumatic valves and conveying; food-grade lubricant or oil-free | Oil-free or food-grade lubricated screw, refrigerated dryer, coalescing and sterile filtration where needed | Supply, filtration design, contracts |
| Packaging, plastics and engineering | General plant air at 7–8 bar g, dry enough for pneumatics | Screw compressor, receiver, refrigerated dryer, line filtration | Sizing, supply, service, rental during expansion |
For these plants we supply and commission against a written air-quality specification, test the installed set against it with the acceptance checklist, and run maintenance contracts that keep the records an audit will ask for. The oil-free and food-grade air pages explain the air-quality classes in plain terms.
Granite at Mahbubnagar and Narayanpet
Mahbubnagar’s quarries and cutting yards work the same way as the rest of Telangana’s granite belt: wagon drills and jackhammers at 7 to 12 bar g for blast holes, DTH hammers at 17 bar g and above for line drilling, and electric screw compressors with dryers for the cutting and polishing yards. The bench in May is hot and dusty, the portable compressor needs a summer margin and an inspection-based cooler and filter calendar, and the yard needs a protected intake and dry air for the polishing line. The DTH drilling guide covers the pressure arithmetic for line drilling.
Seed, cotton and textiles
Seed processing around Mahbubnagar and Gadwal cleans, grades, treats and packs seed on pneumatic equipment that must see dry air, because packed seed that takes up moisture loses viability. Cotton ginning and pressing uses air for pneumatic cylinders on presses and gates, in a lint-laden environment that blocks coolers. Gadwal’s textile units need the clean, dry air of a garment or weaving shed with a cooler that is cleaned frequently. In each case the dryer, filtration, drains and intake placement decide the result, and we design them with the compressor.
Deep borewells on the Palamuru uplands
The Palamuru districts are drought-prone, and the irrigation bores that sustain them are deep in hard rock. A rig here needs a compressor whose rated pressure allows for the water column it will meet at depth, and boosters are common on rigs that work the deepest ground. The DTH drilling guide and the booster-assisted drilling page set out the method. May heat derates engine and airend, and the red-soil dust fills intake filters quickly. We service rig compressors and boosters of every make, supply the spares rigs consume, and supply new and inspected used rig compressors with test sheets.
Key facts for a Mahbubnagar-region site
- Distance: Kothur and Shadnagar are about an hour from Tarnaka; Mahbubnagar town about 100 km; Gadwal and Narayanpet 150–190 km. The parks are half-day visits; the far districts are day trips.
- Climate: hot and dry; May highs around 42 °C; the south-west monsoon from June is lighter here than in the Godavari districts but still brings humid air into plants and lines.
- Dust: stone dust at quarries, lint at ginning units, red-soil dust at rig sites; the parks are cleaner but hot.
- Audits: pharmaceutical and food plants are audited, and compressed-air records are part of what is checked.
- What we do here: sales of new machines through our supply tie-ups, inspected used and refurbished machines from our Secunderabad yard, rental from our own fleet, service and repair of all makes, maintenance contracts with records, overhauls, spares, dryers and filters.
Sales: New, used and refurbished
For a plant in the parks, supply begins with the air-quality specification and the duty, and the comparison between makes is on air quality, energy and the maker’s support for the filtration and drying chain. We have supply tie-ups with all major makes, we are not the authorised dealer of any, and we recommend from the job; the selection guide explains the method. For a quarry, a ginning unit, a seed processor or a workshop, an inspected used or refurbished machine from our yard, load-tested with a six-month warranty and delivered with its test sheet, is often the right value, with a new dryer where the process needs it; the used compressors page sets out what is inspected.
Rental in the Palamuru districts
The parks are close enough for flexible, shorter hires: a standby set during an audit, an outage or an expansion, delivered and commissioned on a planned day. Our fleet also supplies portable diesel compressors for quarry, drilling, construction and irrigation-project work across the far districts, hired by the month, delivered with hoses and a commissioning check; fuel is the hirer’s. For a pharmaceutical plant a rental set is specified with its dryer and filtration against the plant’s standard and commissioned against it.
Service, repair and maintenance contracts
| Situation | What we need first | What then happens |
|---|---|---|
| Plant air out of specification (dew point, oil, particles) | Compressor, dryer and filter nameplates, the specification, recent test results if any | A service engineer with instruments to test dew point and oil content on site, then the fix in the dryer, filters or drains |
| Compressor tripping or losing pressure | Nameplate, controller display or fault code, photographs of the cooler and room | Telephone diagnosis, then a visit with the parts the symptom points to |
| Quarry or rig compressor fault | Nameplate, hours, gauge readings under load, hammer and hole details | A visit with filters, valves and instruments to test under load on site |
| Overhaul, airend or booster rebuild | Hours, noise and vibration history, oil analysis if available | The unit goes to our Secunderabad workshop; a rental or loan machine covers the site |
| Maintenance contract | Machine list with nameplates, hours, criticality, audit dates | A visit calendar from hours, consumables carried, dryers, filters and drains included, records kept in the form an audit expects |
For the parks, a contract with records is the arrangement that keeps audits uneventful; for the far districts it is what prevents unplanned day-long trips. The AMC page explains the structure.
Spare parts to the region
Intake filters, separator elements, oil (including food-grade), belts, inlet and minimum-pressure valves, thermostatic elements, dryer filters and desiccant, drain valves and controller sensors are what the region consumes. Parts for the parks travel by road; parts for the far districts travel with the service engineer or by road. We identify a part from the nameplate and a photograph of the component, not from the canopy name; the spare parts page explains what to photograph.
A worked example: Instrument air for a chemical unit at Jadcherla
A speciality chemical plant in the Jadcherla park specifies instrument air at 7 bar g with a pressure dew point of −40 °C, oil content to Class 1 and particles to Class 2, for about 120 control valves and transmitters plus purge and blanketing duties. The control-valve demand is estimated from the valve list and actuator volumes at about 1.2 m³/min average with short peaks near 2.5 m³/min during sequence changes; purge and blanketing add 0.6 m³/min continuous. The answer is a duplex arrangement of two 15 kW oil-free screw compressors, each able to carry the full duty, a heatless desiccant dryer sized for the full flow at a 45 °C inlet with a purge allowance, a coalescing and particulate filter pair before and a dust filter after the dryer, a 1,500-litre wet receiver and a 1,000-litre dry receiver to carry the sequence peaks, and electronic drains. The set is commissioned against the specification with a dew-point and oil-content test recorded on the acceptance sheet, and a maintenance contract keeps the dryer’s performance test, filter changes and compressor service on a calendar with records.
Common mistakes in the region
- Specifying “oil-free air” for a pharma or food plant without stating the class, the dew point and the test method, so that no one can show it was met.
- Sizing a desiccant dryer without allowing for purge air, and finding the compressor short of capacity.
- Fitting a standard intake filter at a ginning unit or quarry and blaming the compressor when it blocks.
- Buying a rig compressor by nameplate pressure without counting the water column of a deep Palamuru bore.
- Placing a compressor room on the dusty, sunny side of a shed with no hot-air outlet.
- Ordering a part by the canopy name rather than the number on the component.
