What does compressed air look like across Hyderabad industry?
Hyderabad is not one market but several. The pharmaceutical and life-sciences clusters around Genome Valley, Jeedimetla, Bollaram and Pashamylaram need clean, dry air where oil carry-over and moisture are quality risks. The engineering, fabrication and plastics units in Balanagar, Cherlapally, Uppal, Kukatpally and Patancheru need steady plant air at the right pressure for tools, moulding machines and automation. Construction, road and infrastructure work across the city and outer ring road corridors needs portable air for breakers, rock drills and blasting. Borewell and DTH contractors working on the edges of the city and in surrounding districts need high-pressure portable machines.
Each of these users asks a different question. A pharma utility engineer asks which air quality class to specify. A fabrication shop owner asks why the compressor runs all day but pressure still drops at the far end of the shop. A drilling contractor asks whether a 25 bar machine is enough for the next hole depth. This page is organised around those decisions rather than around a list of products.
How the Hyderabad climate affects compressors
Summer ambient temperatures in Hyderabad and much of Telangana regularly sit in the high thirties and reach the mid-forties in April and May. That matters because an air-cooled compressor rejects heat to the room air. When the room is hot, the cooler approach temperature rises, discharge and oil temperatures climb, and machines that were sized for a mild day start tripping on high temperature in the afternoon.
- Compressor-room ventilation: hot exhaust air from the cooler must leave the room, usually through ducting, and must not recirculate to the intake. Recirculation is one of the most common causes of summer trips we see.
- Dryer loading: a refrigerated dryer is rated at a reference inlet and ambient temperature. At higher inlet temperatures it receives more water vapour and its achievable pressure dew point drifts upward from the typical +3 °C design point unless it was sized with correction factors.
- Dust: construction dust, road dust and dry-season dust load intake filters and cooler fins quickly. A clogged cooler raises temperature; a clogged intake filter lowers delivered air and raises specific power.
- Monsoon humidity: from June to September the moisture entering the compressor rises sharply, so drains, separators and dryers carry much more condensate than in winter.
Planning for these seasonal swings at selection or AMC stage costs far less than reacting to an afternoon breakdown in May.
Which compressor suits your Hyderabad application?
Technology choice comes from the duty: pressure, flow, air quality, running hours and whether the load is steady or variable. The table below is a general starting guide, not a substitute for a demand assessment.
| Application | Typical technology | Key points to decide |
|---|---|---|
| Pharma, food and beverage process air | Oil-free screw, or oil-injected screw with multi-stage filtration | Required ISO 8573-1 class for oil, particles and water; dryer type; validation records |
| General plant air in engineering and plastics units | Oil-injected rotary screw, fixed or variable speed | Demand profile, pressure set point, receiver size, piping pressure drop |
| Small workshops, garages, tyre shops | Reciprocating piston or small screw | Duty cycle, noise, tank size, moisture at the tool |
| Construction breakers and rock drills | Portable diesel screw, around 7–10 bar | Number of tools, hose length, fuel and site movement |
| Borewell and DTH drilling | High-pressure portable diesel, typically 14–28 bar (203.1–406.1 psig), special units up to 35 bar | Hole depth, bit size, water ingress, annular velocity |
| Sandblasting and surface preparation | Portable or electric screw with aftercooler and dryer | Nozzle size, pressure at the nozzle, dry air to protect the abrasive |
Two units matter when comparing quotations. Free air delivery (FAD) is the volume of air actually delivered, referred back to inlet conditions; it is the number to compare, not swept volume or displacement. Specific power, in kW per m³/min or kW per 100 cfm at a stated pressure, tells you how much electricity each unit of air costs. A cheaper machine with poorer specific power can cost more within the first few years of a two-shift plant.
Buying a compressor in Hyderabad: new or used?
We supply new rotary screw, reciprocating, oil-free and portable diesel compressors from all major brands, with the dryers, filters, receivers and piping that complete the system. We also supply used and refurbished machines where the duty, budget and lead time make sense.
A new machine suits a plant that will run long hours for years, wants current controls and efficiency, and needs predictable parts support. A used or refurbished machine can suit a standby role, a project of limited life, or a budget that cannot stretch to new. The risk with used equipment is hidden airend wear, so we look at running hours, service history, airend noise and temperature, oil condition and the delivered air before recommending one.
- Define the pressure actually required at the point of use, not the habit set point.
- Estimate demand from tools, machines and running hours, or measure it with a logging study.
- Decide air quality class and dryer type.
- Compare FAD and specific power at the same pressure across options.
- Check room ventilation, electrical supply and space before ordering.
- Plan receiver, drains and piping as part of the same order.
Compressor rental across Hyderabad and Telangana
Through our rental engineering service we supply diesel and electric compressors on hire from 50–2,000 cfm and 2–30 bar, for a day, a month or a season. Common reasons to hire in Hyderabad are planned plant shutdowns, a breakdown of the main compressor, borewell and DTH drilling, sandblasting and painting, construction work and temporary peak demand during a production ramp-up.
A rental is more than a machine on a trailer. The hoses, manifolds, moisture control and, where needed, aftercoolers and dryers are planned with the machine. For a factory tie-in, the connection point, non-return arrangement and changeover sequence are agreed before the machine arrives. For a construction site, access, parking, refuelling responsibility and security are agreed in the rental proposal. The minimum hire period and rate depend on machine size and distance to site and are stated in writing.
Service, AMC and breakdown support
Our service team handles scheduled servicing, breakdown repair, overhauls, airend overhaul and compressed-air audits for compressors of all major makes. For sites with critical air, an annual maintenance contract sets visit frequency, included parts and response arrangements according to your machines and running hours.
A typical service visit on an oil-injected screw compressor covers:
- Recording running and loaded hours, pressures, temperatures and fault history from the controller.
- Changing oil and replacing air, oil and separator elements as due, using parts confirmed for that machine.
- Checking the oil-stop and minimum-pressure valves, intake valve and blow-down operation.
- Inspecting cooler fins, fan, belts or coupling, and motor condition.
- Testing condensate drains, safety valve and pressure switch or transducer readings.
- Listening and checking temperature trends for airend bearing wear.
- A written record of what was checked, measured and replaced, with any recommendations.
For a plant that runs several compressors of different brands, the value of one multi-brand team is a single set of records and one view of the whole compressor room, rather than separate visits that never look at how the machines work together.
Spare parts for compressors in Hyderabad
We supply service kits, air filters, oil filters, separators, compressor oils, valves, sensors, coolers and engine parts for portable diesel compressors, for all major brands. Parts are identified from the machine, using the make, model, serial number, a nameplate photo and the old part where possible, and the fit is confirmed before we quote. Where both genuine and quality aftermarket options exist, we explain the difference so that you can choose.
Hyderabad’s industrial areas and the compressors they typically use
Each industrial belt around Hyderabad has a different mix of industries, so the typical compressor, dryer and service pattern differs too. The table below is a general guide; every plant should still be sized from its own demand and air-quality needs.
| Area | Typical industries | Typical compressed-air equipment |
|---|---|---|
| Jeedimetla | Bulk drugs and pharma, engineering, fabrication, plastics | Oil-injected and oil-free screws of about 15–90 kW, refrigerated and desiccant dryers, piston units in small workshops |
| Balanagar | Precision engineering, machine shops, fabrication, auto components | Oil-injected screws of about 7.5–55 kW, refrigerated dryers, piston compressors for small shops |
| Kukatpally and Moosapet | Small engineering workshops, fabrication, vehicle service, printing | Piston compressors of about 3–10 hp, small screws of 5.5–22 kW |
| Cherlapally | Engineering, plastics and packaging, chemicals, pharma | Oil-injected screws, often variable speed, refrigerated dryers; oil-free or well-filtered air for pharma |
| Uppal and Nacharam | Engineering, plastics moulding, food processing, packaging | Oil-injected screws of about 11–75 kW, refrigerated dryers, food-grade filtration where air touches product |
| Patancheru and Pashamylaram | Bulk drugs, pharma formulations, chemicals, engineering | Oil-free and oil-injected screws, desiccant dryers for low dew points, nitrogen generators, vacuum pumps |
| Bollaram | Bulk drugs and pharma, chemicals | Oil-free screws, desiccant dryers, vacuum pumps, nitrogen |
| Medchal | Engineering, steel and fabrication, food processing, warehousing | Screw compressors from small to large, piston units, portable diesel units for site and yard work |
| Shamshabad | Logistics and warehousing, airport-area manufacturing, food processing | Small to medium screws, piston units for maintenance workshops and tyre service |
| Kattedan | Small-scale food, plastics, rubber and engineering units | Piston compressors and small screws, often shared by several machines |
| Genome Valley and Turkapally | Life-sciences research, biotech, vaccines, pharma | Oil-free screws or scroll units, desiccant dryers, sterile and validated filtration, vacuum, nitrogen |
On the outer ring road corridors, construction, metro and road works also use portable diesel compressors for breakers, rock drills and blasting, and borewell contractors use high-pressure units.
How to choose a compressor supplier in Hyderabad
Searches for air compressor dealers, suppliers and manufacturers in Hyderabad return three different kinds of business. It helps to know which one you are talking to.
- A manufacturer designs and builds compressors. Most compressors sold in Hyderabad are built elsewhere in India or abroad.
- An authorised dealer sells and services one brand under an agreement with that brand.
- An independent multi-brand supplier sells, rents, services and supplies parts for several makes. Reddy Compressors is this kind of business: it is not a manufacturer and not an authorised dealer of any brand. It supplies new machines of all major makes through its tie-ups, plus used and refurbished machines, rental, service and spares.
Whichever kind you choose, ask every supplier the same questions:
- What is the free air delivery at my working pressure? Ask for the figure at the pressure you will actually run, measured to ISO 1217, not the nominal or displacement figure.
- What is the specific power? Ask for package input kW per m³/min (or per 100 cfm) at that pressure. Electricity is usually the largest cost over a compressor’s life.
- Who holds the warranty, and who will honour it here? Get the terms, period, exclusions and starting date in writing.
- Where do service and parts come from? Ask where the engineers are based, whether common filters, separators, oil and valves are stocked locally, and how parts are identified.
- What air quality will I get? Ask for the dryer pressure dew point at your summer conditions and the filtration, stated as an ISO 8573-1 class.
- For a used machine: ask for running hours, the delivered air from a test, the airend and motor condition, and what the warranty covers.
- What else is included? Receiver, dryer, filters, drains, piping, installation and commissioning are often quoted separately.
A supplier who asks about your tools, pressure, running hours and room before quoting a size is usually more useful than one who quotes a kW rating straight away.
Arranging a service visit: what makes the first visit productive
When you search for compressor repair near you, what matters most is whether the engineer arrives with the right information and parts. A few details shared beforehand often decide whether the fault is fixed on the first visit.
| Send this | Why it helps |
|---|---|
| Nameplate photo: make, model, serial number, pressure and motor kW | Identifies the machine, its parts and its service history |
| Running hours (loaded and total) and the date of the last service | Shows which service is due and what wear to expect |
| Photo of the controller display and any fault or alarm code | Narrows the fault before travel |
| Short video with sound of the fault, a leak or the trip | Separates bearing, valve, belt and electrical noises |
| Discharge pressure, outlet temperature and room temperature when it fails | Points to cooling, ventilation or control problems |
| What changed just before the fault: oil top-up, power cut, new machine on the line | Often the quickest clue |
| Site location pin, gate pass or permit rules, safe access and an electrician available for isolation | Saves waiting time on site |
Some faults are solved by phone or WhatsApp once these details arrive, for example a blocked drain, a closed ventilation louvre or a wrong set point. Where a visit is needed, identified parts can be carried on the first visit instead of the second.
Worked example: compressed air for a CNC machine shop (illustrative)
A machine shop in an industrial estate (illustrative) runs four vertical machining centres (VMCs), three CNC lathes, blow guns and a few air tools. CNC machines usually need clean, dry air at about 6 bar(g) at the machine inlet for the tool changer, spindle purge, chuck and door cylinders.
Step 1: demand
| Consumer | Number | Air each, cfm | Use factor | Average, cfm |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| VMC: tool changer, spindle purge, door | 4 | 5 | 1.0 | 20 |
| VMC air blast for chip clearing | 2 | 10 | 0.5 | 10 |
| CNC lathe: chuck, tailstock, purge | 3 | 3 | 1.0 | 9 |
| Blow guns | 4 | 15 | 0.3 | 18 |
| Impact wrench and air tools | 2 | 15 | 0.2 | 6 |
| Total | 63 |
- Leakage allowance, 10%: 63 × 1.10 = 69.3 cfm.
- Growth allowance, 20%: 69.3 × 1.20 = 83.2 cfm, which is 83.2 ÷ 35.315 = 2.36 m³/min.
Step 2: pressure
Work back from 6.0 bar(g) at the machine: hose and filter-regulator about 0.3 bar, main piping about 0.1 bar, line filters about 0.2 bar, refrigerated dryer about 0.2 bar. 6.0 + 0.3 + 0.1 + 0.2 + 0.2 = 6.8 bar(g) as the lowest pressure in the receiver. With a 0.5–0.7 bar control band, the compressor runs at about 7.5 bar(g) maximum (7.5 × 14.5038 = 108.8 psig). A compressor in the 15–18.5 kW oil-injected screw class delivering at least 2.4 m³/min (85 cfm) at 7.5 bar(g) fits; confirm the delivered figure on the maker’s data sheet.
Step 3: water and the dryer
On a monsoon day at 35 °C and 70% relative humidity, air holds about 39.6 × 0.70 = 27.7 g of water per m³. The compressor draws 2.36 × 60 = 142 m³ of free air per hour, so about 142 × 27.7 = 3.9 kg of water enters every hour.
- After compression to 7.5 bar(g) (7.5 + 0.95 = 8.45 bar(a) in Hyderabad), one m³ of free air at 0.95 bar(a) occupies about 0.95 ÷ 8.45 = 0.112 m³, ignoring the small temperature correction. Saturated at 40 °C after the aftercooler, that holds about 51.1 × 0.112 = 5.7 g. So 27.7 − 5.7 = 22.0 g per m³ condenses: 142 × 22.0 = 3.1 kg per hour at the aftercooler and receiver.
- A refrigerated dryer at +3 °C pressure dew point leaves about 5.95 × 0.112 = 0.7 g per m³, removing another 5.7 − 0.7 = 5.0 g per m³: 142 × 5.0 = 0.7 kg per hour.
- Total: 3.1 + 0.7 = about 3.8 litres of condensate per hour, or about 30 litres in an eight-hour shift. Without a dryer, much of the dryer’s share ends up in valves, cylinders and machine air circuits.
Size the dryer for Hyderabad’s summer, not the catalogue condition. Dryers are often rated at 25 °C ambient and 35 °C inlet; at 45 °C ambient the maker’s correction factor is commonly around 0.7, so the nominal rating needed is about 83 ÷ 0.7 = 119 cfm. Fit automatic, no-loss drains on the receiver, dryer and filters, and send oily condensate to an oil-water separator.
Step 4: receiver
The largest short peak is two air blasts and three blow guns at once, about 2 × 10 + 3 × 15 = 65 cfm above the average, lasting perhaps 30 seconds. Allowing the receiver to fall by 1 bar from 7.5 to 6.5 bar(g) while the compressor catches up:
- Peak excess = 65 ÷ 35.315 = 1.84 m³/min of free air.
- Receiver volume = 1.84 × 0.5 min × 0.95 bar(a) ÷ 1.0 bar = 0.87 m³, about 870 litres.
A 1,000 litre receiver suits this shop. It also reduces load-unload cycling on the screw. If the compressor is variable speed, the same receiver still covers the peaks while the drive responds.

Frequently asked questions
Where can I hire an air compressor in Hyderabad?
Reddy Compressors hires diesel and electric compressors from 50–2,000 cfm and 2–30 bar for Hyderabad sites and beyond, from our base in Tarnaka, Secunderabad. Machines are delivered, started and collected by us, with hoses and moisture control planned for the job. Tell us the pressure, the tools or flow, the site location and the expected duration, and we will propose a suitable machine in writing.
Which compressor brands can you service in Hyderabad?
We service all major brands, including Atlas Copco, Ingersoll Rand, ELGi, KAESER, Chicago Pneumatic, Gardner Denver, Sullair, Doosan, Kirloskar, Bobcat and many more. We are an independent multi-brand specialist, not an authorised dealer of these brands, and their names and trademarks belong to their owners. Mixed-brand compressor rooms can be covered by one team, with one set of service records for every machine.
Why does my compressor trip on high temperature in summer?
In Hyderabad summers the usual causes are hot compressor-room air, exhaust air recirculating to the intake, dust-blocked cooler fins, low or degraded oil, or a faulty thermostatic valve or fan. The machine may have been sized for a cooler day. We check room ventilation, cooler condition, oil and temperature readings, then correct the cause rather than simply resetting the alarm or raising the trip setting.
Should I buy a new or used compressor for my factory?
A new compressor usually suits long running hours, critical air and a plant that wants current efficiency and controls. A used or refurbished machine can suit standby duty, a short project or a tight budget. The deciding factors are running hours, the cost of electricity over the machine’s life, airend condition and parts availability. We inspect used machines before recommending them and compare options on delivered air and specific power.
Can I get an annual maintenance contract for compressors in Hyderabad?
Yes. An AMC for your Hyderabad or Telangana site sets the visit frequency, included consumables and parts, and the response arrangements according to the machines you run and their running hours. It can cover several brands under one contract. Each visit ends with a written record of what was checked, measured and replaced, which helps you plan budgets and spot developing problems early.
Do you serve customers outside Hyderabad?
Yes. Hyderabad is a major part of our work, but our service teams cover the whole of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, including plants in district industrial estates and on remote project sites. Compressors, rental machines and spare parts are supplied to customers across India, and site support elsewhere is arranged project by project where feasible. Our single office is in Tarnaka, Secunderabad, so tell us your site location when you enquire.
How do I find the right spare part for my compressor?
Send us a clear photo of the compressor nameplate showing make, model and serial number, the running hours and a photo of the old part with any part number on it. We identify the part from the machine and confirm fit before quoting. Where both genuine and aftermarket options exist we explain the difference so you can choose with full information.
Are you air compressor dealers in Hyderabad?
No. Reddy Compressors is not an authorised dealer of any brand. It is an independent multi-brand compressor supplier based in Tarnaka, Secunderabad, working since 2002. Through tie-ups with all major and reputed brands it supplies new compressors of all major makes, and it also sells used and refurbished machines, hires compressors from 50 to 2,000 cfm, services all major makes and supplies spare parts. Being independent lets it compare makes for your duty instead of offering one brand.
Do you have used air compressors for sale in Hyderabad?
Yes, Reddy Compressors sells used and refurbished compressors of all major makes. Used and refurbished machines carry a six-month warranty on the whole compressor from the delivery or invoice date; consumables, misuse or wrong oil, service by others, and accident or site damage are excluded. Before buying, ask for running hours, the delivered air at your pressure, and the airend and motor condition. Tell us your pressure, demand and running hours and we will advise what suits.
Are you air compressor manufacturers in Hyderabad?
No. Reddy Compressors does not manufacture compressors. It is an independent supplier that sells new machines of all major makes through its tie-ups, plus used and refurbished machines, rental, service, AMC and spare parts. For most buyers the more useful question is not who built the machine, but who will size it correctly, install it properly, and keep it running with local service and parts in Hyderabad.
How do I get compressor repair near me in Hyderabad?
Call or WhatsApp 99590 60718 or 92468 88812; Reddy Compressors is open seven days, 8:30 to 20:30, and its service engineers cover Hyderabad, Secunderabad and the surrounding industrial areas. Send a nameplate photo, running hours, a photo of any fault code, a short video of the fault and your location pin.
